September 14, 2011 The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) General Secretary George Kasengele toured the new constructed Ndola amphitheater for a technical inspection and the nation’s 5 million plus fans’ were dashed when reports from Ndola indicated that the ultra-modern Stadium was not going to host the eagerly anticipated Group C 2012 African Cup of Nations qualifier between Zambia and Libya next month. Though they were satisfied with the facilities at the Stadium, Kasengele’s entourage were told by the Chinese engineers on the site that grass [not synthetic] which has been imported from South Africa will need about about 3 months to grow and subsequently ruled out the African Cup of Nations qualifier. Below are the latest pictures of the Ndola Stadium taken over the weekend. What ever pitch will use is obviously worse than the still growing ndola one. vinkubala on Wed, 14th Sep 2011 11:29 PM But I can see some nice grass on the pitch. Has this been condemned? In any case, let’s wait for the right time. No team should come out of that beautiful stadium unscathed. It will be an inspiration for all soccer players to work hard, don the national jersey and represent mother Zed on that state of the art facility. THE SLEEPING GIANT FINALLY AWAKENS. AK on Thu, 15th Sep 2011 12:25 AM Patience pays.you mean after waiting for such a structure over 48yrs,you can’t seriously wait for 3 months.at least we have one now at our disposal…no need to go for short cuts. AK on Thu, 15th Sep 2011 12:38 AM My concern is the colour of seats, why didn’t they put national colours it being a national stadium.blue in my opinion is not a national colour….your clarification zamfoot on this. Kayembe on Thu, 15th Sep 2011 1:01 AM AK, What color are you talking about? It seems to me you are just an arm-chair critic!
