Transparency International Zambia (TIZ) has observed that it is not helpful for semipolitical parties to blame each for the violence in the country. TIZ President Rueben Lifuka says all political parties and electorates should condemn violence instead of apportioning blame on individual parties. Mr. Lifuka says it is unfortunate that people chose to take political positions in condemning political violence instead of condemning it as patriotic Zambians. In an interview with QFM, Mr. Lifuka notes that it is time the politics of the country changed to where citizens flock to campaign rallies to listen to issue rather than going to participate in political violence. Mr. Lifuka notes that political leaders still have a lot of work to do in ensuring that the electorate understands their manifestos for them to win votes.
