Students at David Livingstone College of Education have appealed to government to address the human-animal conflicts in Livingstone. Students union President, Haggai Mulanfu says elephants have been terrorise students at the college. Mr Mulanfu has further asked government to quickly intervene before the elephants destroy institutional property. Meanwhile, the students have formed a committee to press college management to swiftly do something over the problem. But government has assured the people affected by human-animal conflict, that the problem will be resolved. Deputy Minister in the office of the Vice President, Edger Lungu says government is aware of the respective challenge. He has explained that the current policies do not protect humans therefore the need to revise them. Mr Lungu has also bemoaned the lack of responsibility by Zambia Wildlife Authority and other institutions charged with controlling animals.
