Ministry of Health spokesperson, Kamoto Mbewe says 341 cases of Anthrax have been recorded the disease’s outbreak 2 weeks ago. Dr Mbewe has told ZANIS by telephone that there are however no increased records of deaths arising from the disease. And Dr Mbewe says the biggest challenge authorities are currently facing is that people are refusing to surrender the condemned hippo meat, which led to the disease outbreak. Since the disease broke in Chama district, Eastern province, 6 deaths have been reported amid increased records of infections.
